Baby Cowboy

The other night Christopher came down from his bath dressed as a buckaroo...and I'm still laughing. Notice the belly. ;)

Not Spring

It's snowing. And we're staying in and having pizza. Sounds like a good plan to me!

Spring?

We were supposed to have a nasty ice storm today...and I sincerely doubt it! It's LOVELY! We have sunshine!!!

This morning we went for a walk with some friends and their babies. It was so nice to get out of the house first thing in the morning. I'm really tired of waiting until afternoon when it's a bit "warmer".

This afternoon I'm working some deadlines/articles while Christopher naps. At least that's the plan. Right now he's singing in his crib...

Happy Easter!

From our snowy egg hunt yesterday.

Thank You, AAA!

Obviously we didn't get to Ohio. (This is less than 2 miles down the highway from our exit.) So I'm not teaching today. (Very upset about that!) And we don't get to spend a snowy Easter with Steve's family. Maybe next year without the snow?

BUT: We're all okay. The car is just fine. Christopher never once cried (as you can see above)...I think he thought it was funny to be tipped to the side like that and he has always preferred to be cold. He was napping when it happened and woke up to find himself a little off kilter.

Today we're having blueberry pancakes and planning to attend the impromptu ward egg hunt in the snow. Should be a fabulous day to stay home. Oh! And I'm still going to make Portuguese Sweet Bread. Of course.

As well as AAA, we'd like to thank my parents for the great car! And all the many motorists that stopped to see if we were okay/offer to call someone for us. And we mustn't forget our great friends that came to our rescue despite the fact that she is due any minute, 15 month old was screaming for dinner, and their bathroom is suddenly leaking into their kitchen. Thank you!

Urban Fairies of Ann Arbor

Is this not the coolest bit of Ann Arbor mythology?!

Happy St. Patrick's Day

This is Christopher with the woolly sheep we bought at Target...because Mommy simply HAD to have it! I'm not ashamed. :) He loves to pat it (because Mommy doesn't let him play with it) and kiss it's face...sometimes he gets wool in his eyes and giggles. Oh! And his shirt says" Farmer in Training"...it's John Deere.

This Last Week

Last week we experienced a little Spring weather! Our bulbs are emerging from the ground, the birds are out in the morning, there are still mountains of snow in the parking lots, but it's warmer! We took a couple walks and let Christopher explore a little. It's been hard on all these little kids his age that learned to walk in the middle of the winter. Our apartments are just too small...not enough "play" room once you're big enough to walk. We're very happy to be outside again!

On Saturday I went with a couple friends to a Mom-to-Mom sale north of Detroit. I must admit that shopping for second-hand baby clothes is so much more fun than shopping at Target! Plus, I got to help pick out little pink dresses as one friend is expecting a girl any minute. :) Oh! And I bought the cutest little black cowboy boots for $3. I've been looking for some for Christopher for months! Never saw any at all in Texas.

We're still trying to get into a better spot in our complex...hoping to move in a month or two. Steve finally got someone to answer our questions about transferring. He's my hero! I think I'd have been too annoyed and rude to them. Way to go, Steve!

Christopher has gotten VERY big! On Thursday we went to the doctor for his 15 month appointment...he is 32 inches tall and 22 lbs. We're so proud! He has four teeth (still a little behind) and walks/runs like a champ. He likes to play hide-and-go-seek...he's the one that hides. Apparently it's hysterical to go into the bathroom and shut the door on Mommy. He does get kind of alarmed if you don't "find" him soon enough. Since our trip to DC he's been VERY clingy.

I've been very busy meeting deadlines for the Itty Bitty design team and for Fiskateers. Busy, but happy to do it! I'll be teaching in Ohio over Easter weekend...can't wait to meet all the NE Ohio Fiskateers!

*Photos coming! Just waiting for Christopher to get up from his nap...he'll be ready for a little photo shoot after his nap and a snack. :)

Reading Spot

This is my newest reading spot. It's even better than under the desk!

Washington DC

DC was great! And cold. Very cold. We had a great time walking everywhere and seeing WAY more than we thought we'd have time for. Christopher had fun with Grandma and Grandpa. He seems to have grown up a lot in the time we were gone.
